Ian Usher

My practice centres around mankind’s relationship with illusion where I wish to share my interpretation of this world though my photographic based practice.

I am interested in producing images that capture our perception of reality, sometimes revealing a hidden aspect of ourselves and the world we believe exists. As a result of this interest, I have developed an exclusive process using a combination of glazes layered onto an initial image, to produce a work of art that is both a photograph and a painting.

These are individual pieces of art and the unique composition of each is unrepeatable. My work is of an experimental nature within a semi-abstract style.
