January 11 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 6:30pm on Thursday, repeating until 5th April 2018

The Artist’s Way – A Course in Discovering and Recovering your Creative Self!

This course is a 12-week (13 session) group study of Julia Cameron’s book – The Artist’s Way.

Are you feeling creatively blocked? Are you struggling to find ways of expressing your creativity? Have you always wanted to be creative but feel like it’s not in your DNA?

With The Artist’s Way you can discover how to unlock your latent creativity and make your dreams a reality.

This book will guide us using exercises and weekly themes to remove blocks to our natural state of creativity. When could be more of a perfect time to start this than in the New Year!

The structure of the course will look like this:

11th January – Introduction, introducing ourselves, preparing for the start, our expectations
18th January – Week 1: Recovering a Sense of Safety
25th January – Week 2: Recovering a Sense of Identity
1st February – Week 3: Recovering a Sense of Power
8th February – Week 4: Recovering a Sense of Integrity
15th February – Week 5: Recovering a Sense of Possibility
22nd February – Week 6: Recovering a Sense of Abundance
1st March – Week 7: Recovering a Sense of Connection
8th March – Week 8: Recovering a Sense of Strength
15th March – Week 9: Recovering a Sense of Compassion
22nd March – Week 10: Recovering a Sense of Self-Protection
29th March – Week 11: Recovering a Sense of Autonomy
5th April – Week 12: Recovering a Sense of Faith and Reflecting on our Journey

In the book it suggests doing this course in a group with others for support, encouragement and community. My name is Flo, I decided to start this group so that I would have others to experience this course with. I have not completed it before so it will be a new experience for me too. I am hoping that as we get to know each other it will be a co-created space each week, where we work out ways of connecting and sharing.

To cover the cost of room hire I am asking that you pay £20 for the course and that you pay this to me before it starts so I can make sure the cost will be covered (this will effectively secure your place in the room). If there is any money left over after I have paid the room costs it will be given to Hamilton House to support their continued presence in this area of Bristol.

In addition to this cost you will need a copy of the book and unless you are sharing one or already own one these retail at around £6-£12 online. If you want I can order one for you if you send me the money.
