Tai Chi is a complete system of health for body and mind. It originated in China and is several hundred years old. Tai Chi involves slow gentle movements as well as standing meditation,the combination of which help to improve posture and allow the body to relax deeply.
As the body becomes more relaxed so does the mind and as the posture improves the energy levels increase, the blood flows easier, breathing becomes fuller and people become more balanced both physically and emotionally.
As a form of physical exercise Tai Chi is unparalleled. Tai Chi strengthens the internal muscles in a natural and gentle manner without any detrimental effect in the long term. It is possibly the only form of exercise that one could do all day long without any adverse results! For these reasons it can be practiced by anyone of any age or ability.
Tai Chi is often associated with old people precisely because regular practice will help you live to ripe old age whilst maintaining a fit and healthy body.
