An invitation to study and practice the art of mandala painting, with artist Anne Thomas.
Find inspiration for creating a mandala using the symbolic language of Sacred Geometry. Learn how to create patterns with compass and ruler, explore colour through
painting with watercolour, while taking time to relax and go deeper with guided meditation.
Our focus will embrace the flowers and nature of late Spring/early Summer – how this affects us and how we may create a design to hold
a positive affirmation for ourselves/family/community at this time.
We’ll be working with Pentagonal geometry, the quality of five-ness, which is the most commonly found pattern in nature and related to
the Golden Spiral. Taking inspiration from Celtic and Islamic art, Goddess symbolism and teachings of the Native American Medicine Wheel.
Suitable for beginners and those with previous experience, age 14 to adult. Materials are provided, but do bring your own brushes, pencils,
ruler and compass if you prefer.
