Learning City: A Self-Portrait

25th August 2017 - 5th September 2017

There will be an opening night for this event at 6PM of Friday 25th August.

The exhibition invites all residents and visitors to Bristol to explore learning in the city through interactive exhibits.

To demonstrate the different ways on learning in Bristol, the first gallery will present some of its different aspects and geographies. The second gallery delves into the politics of learning.

Some of the key elements include:

  • An interactive installation including visual material gathered the community research team at the University of Bristol
  • A collaborative mapping installation highlighting parts of the city used for learning
  • Artworks, maps and stories focusing on different learning experiences across Bristol
  • A cabinet of curiosity with a range of learning objects, from certificates to clothing, artworks and more

The exhibition forms an integral part of the Reinventing Learning Cities research, which examines the different ways in which cities learn.

For more detail, see here: learningcitiesproject.org Co-funded by AHRC Connected Communities (connected-communities.org/) and the Brigstow Institute, University of Bristol (bristol.ac.uk/brigstow/).
