This traditional Hatha Yoga class brings you a taste of this ancient practice from it’s source in India. Akhanda means whole and full, and represents the combining of all aspects of yoga in a holistic approach. This includes the physical postures (asana), breathwork (pranayama), relaxation, mantra, visualisation and meditation. Bringing these elements together creates harmony between mind, body and breath, leaving you feeling calm, centred and uplifted. Classes are open to all levels (or just beginners initially). Each class is carefully prepared with a different theme each week and includes a combination of building strength and flexibility, increasing vitality through the breath and movement, balancing the energy systems in the body and bringing stillness to the mind.
Loka recently qualified as an Akhanda Yoga Teacher. She completed her 200 hour training in North India, at the foot hills of the Himalayas (Rishikesh, India).
Her kind, sweet and gentle approach offers a comforting atmosphere that allows you to feel supported. She is warm and friendly and has an openness that allows you to be yourself. Her light-hearted and playfulness transcends the room. Yoga is for everyone, so anyone is welcome.
