Fri 1st - World Government
The World Government is a fresh take on what music is, Nothing is pre-conceived, written in advance, discussed or ever rehearsed. The idea is to get a group of exciting players together, add an audience and see what happens. This is free expression!

Sat 2nd - United Vibrations
United Vibrations are charting new waters in the ocean of British Music. Inspired by a wealth of different sources, ranging from Drum ‘n’ Bass and Hip-Hop to rock and afro-beat. They are re-establishing the LIVE element to “Urban”, dance music in the UK whilst re-establishing the Afro-Rock connections seemingly forgotten in these parts. Inspired by the Rock and Funk pioneers of the 70’s they are forging a new direction for Live music coming out of London. As comfortable in a squat rave as in Ronnie Scotts, these guys are obliterating the established boundaries between, jazz, Rock and dance music.

Sun 3rd (4pm) - Newrising
Using an unorthodox acoustic instrumental set up featuring a Peruvian box drum (Cajon) and drawing influence from a massive musical spectrum. Newrising combine elements of funk, roots, urban soul, reggae, blues, rock and latin to produce a new sound rising up above the conventional with originality and talent.

Mon 4th - James Ladd & Friends
Laid back soul, jazz, folk and blues from this fantastic Bristol mainstay, James collaborates with a variety of different guests to make this monthly gig a pleasant surprise.

Tue 5th - Dirk Landish
Mesmerising folk blues singer songwriter with perhaps even some guests if your lucky joins us tonight for an acoustic and electric mix of original songs and tales.

Wed 6th - Rostrum
The best of contemporary circus music and a darker vitality of music connecting various European traditions to classic jazz and several stranger newer strains of the virus. They play histories. The bandleader, Peter Swaffer-Reynolds composes the music.

Thur 7th - Duval Project
A brand new venture by Gary Alesbrook, trumpet/flugelhorn, accompanied by Andy Kinsman, sax; Richie Blake, bass; Danny Cox, drums, and Andy Nowak on keys - Soul & R'n'B influenced by Gary's time with Raphael Saadiq, Lynden David Hall and India Arie - Old school funk with new school sounds!

Fri 8th - London Afrobeat Collective
LAC is a dirty dozen of battle-hardened musicians from all corners of the globe who’ve played everywhere from Gdansk to Zanzibar, from Lagos to Los Angeles. A Molotov cocktail of blazing horns and twisted drum beats, skanking guitars and soul-deep bass, pounding rhythms and politically charged vocals for troubled times. Don’t miss a rare opportunity to see this amazing explosion of energy from this amazing 12 strong Afrobeat Army|!

Pan African/Caribbean/European word beat act extraordinaire featuring master players Ben Baddoo & Modou N’Diaye Cissokho. With a range of instrumentation from Balafon to Flute, Rootsy Bass to Kora these guys are sure the get the dance floor moving.

Sun 10th (4pm) - Goodrich
Jimmy Goodrich is a Canadian singer songwriter now based in Bristol. The music is original, well crafted and dynamic, he is joined by local lads Andy Nowack, Sol Ahmed & Jason Newman to complete this exciting new project.

Mon 11th - Canteen Jazz Session
A high quality Jazz session for all seasoned instrumental musicians in the Bristol area. Spanning all Jazz era’s from bebop, swing, latin and more, hosted by a the house trio (drums, double bass & piano) the session provides an opportunity to get involved. Alternate weeks at Canteen & Harbourside.

Tue 12th - Baker Boys
Baker Boys play unique arrangements of Gypsy Swing, Jazz and French waltz. Their repertoire includes many popular songs from the 1930's, performed in an authentic Gypsy Manouche style. Guitarists Dave Archer and Harry Sankey draw inspiration from examples such as Oscar Aleman, Tchan Tchou Vidal and Django Reinhardt.

Wed 13th - Truffle Shuffle
Organ grooving music including funk, jazz and soul from the 50s to the present day. Featuring Hammond Master John Paul Gard on the real deal Hammond Organ plus drums and sax this outfit will make you wanna get up and do the truffle shuffle!

Thur 14th - George Mbuza Group
Tribute to late great saxophonist, performing original tunes as well as new compositions emulating the true Mozambique style, coordinated by Chris Powell of the infamous World Government this group brings together a wide range of fantastic Bristol players.

Fri 15th - Railroad Bill
Railroad Bill play raw, fast, gutsy skiffle music on the simplest of instruments – washboard, tea chest bass, guitar and mandolin. With an act that has been honed on the streets and on the stages of the UK and abroad, they have been described as ‘Lonnie Donegan on Speed’. Not to be missed!

Just who's the funkiest right now? It has gotta be the force or 9-strong Prime Funk. Combining the best in groove-based urban dance music with a deep knowledge of jazz, funk, rock, and blues. Bringing a dynamic show that's guaranteed to excite, entertain, and even blow a few minds with fresh tunes, killer grooves and wild dance moves so be sure to check them out.

Sun 17th (4pm) - Groanbox
North American trio of Paul Clifford, Cory Seznec, and Michael Ward-Bergeman, are a musical hybrid of ideas and ideals. At first glance a roots band steeped in the traditions of American music, they play with all the guts of rock and roll and all the soul of the wandering troubadour. But somewhere along the way, that troubadour turned off the road and, setting sail from the melting pot of New Orleans, began a journey that would take their sound to new, unchartered territories with influences from around the world.

Mon 18th - Phil King
Solo set from this superb acoustic singer songwriter. Phil’s music is steeped in the heart of soul jazz and blues and journeys through folk lines and story times. Come and catch him while he is in town.

Tue 19th - Ian Perry
Night blue Lifts, light space and journeys. A voice that will make you melt. Beautiful Tuesday Bluesday.

Wed 20th - James Dorman Quartet
New in town JD is renown for his TV and film music production work, but tonight he hones in his skills as an accomplished jazz guitarist and if your lucky vibes player. JD is joined by Ruth Hammond & John Blakeley to make it a groovy organ trio based supper.

Thur 21st - Baajo
Featuring Ghanaian Master Drummer, Ben Baddoo, and a host of funky groovers, Baajo create deeply textured music somewhere between Afro-Beat, Highlife and Funk.

Fri 22nd - Bulawayo
Cecilia Ndhlovu's entrancing mbira thumb-piano and hypnotic and joyous Ndebele and Shona vocals take listeners on an educational journey through Zimbabwean tradition. Driven by classic jit-jive guitar and rolling chimurenga bass matched with the powerful drum patterns of modern Zimbabwe, the classic sound of Bulawayo will be one to make you move!

Sat 23rd - Medicine Creek
Medicine Creek are a foot stomping old time string band featuring Nuala Honan of the Alchemy Quartet, with Aaron Catlow and Dorian Sutton from Sheelanagig. The band specialise in rootsy bluegrass and Americana, with sweet harmonies and dark tales. Audiences are advised to sing loud, dance fast and drink heavily.

Balkanous tunes and Klezmer rhythms with smatterings of other influences from around The Federation, with members of Vladimir Steamboat, Kneehigh Theatre & No Fit State Circus alike you’ll been in for some melodramatic multiple melodic musical mayhem!

Wed 27th - Emily Wright Trio
Contemporary jazz tunes and choice standards from this fascinating, versatile and instrumental vocalist joined by the gypsy swing manouche experts Davidos Archibold and Hairy Sandcastle.

Thur 28th - The Fluff
Soul-Jazz and Rare groove with unhinged experimental diversions created via Jake McMurchie – Horns, John B – Traps, Mike Willox – Keys & Jon Short – Bass’.

Fri 29th - Million Way
Million Way are a live electro/house trio, for want of a better summary. They don’t have choruses or a singer, but they know exactly what comprises a full dancefloor wig-out and they excel at making it happen… a high-energy performance of musically vibrant and expertly produced live electro, house, fidget, techno, booty and acid!

Sat 30th - Laid Blak
We are really excited to have a special treat this bank holiday, Bristol Reggae band Laid Blak - Created through the partnership of producer DJ Bunjy and MC Joe Peng who joined forces to conquer the 90’s Jungle and Rave scenes. Fast forward 5 years and the fledgling studio project pair started had become a seasoned live act thanks to the addition of 5 talented musicians whose backgrounds vary from breakdancer to classical pianist alongside members of a church band. Laid Blak’s unique style sees them seamlessly incorporate 2 vocalists and a DJ into their stage show alongside a traditional reggae rhythm section. Make sure you get down to see this amazing live show.
