Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 5:33PM The music floor is shaping up. We have just completed the build of the first round of spaces available to rent on the music and media floor. There has been budding enthusiasm shown by music and media businesses, producers and record labels alike, who have all expressed interest to fill the space.
The plan to create a one stop music hub of quality media businesses began with Plastic Buddha film productions who have been settled there for a while. Now the blueprints have turned into a reality and this section of the building will become host to an influx of creativity, a floor intent on providing better community facilities for the spectacular range of musical talent that exists within Bristol.
Passion Radio has already secured a room, which is under construction and should see them moved in and ready to broadcast very soon.
To raise money for the build, the music floor team have also begun to compile a CD of Bristol talent. By promoting local artists they hope to show how they will provide a high level of infrastructure, knowledge and networking for new musicians.
It will be available in Spring 2012 and will be sold in independent record shops around Stokes Croft.
Affordable and sustainable rehearsal rooms should be ready to go in Summer 2012. For enquiries about room sizes and facilities on offer contact musicandmedia@coexistuk.org
