Artists Group Crit

Coexist and Bristol Diving School invited all of their tenants to a group art crit day in December, as a great way for artists to show their work to a diverse group of practising artists and curators to get feedback. Bristol Diving School is a collective of artists based in studio and exhibition space near Spike Island.

Artists were encouraged to consider and discuss these elements of their work:

- What are the ideas/concepts around your work?

- How have you got to this point and where would you like your work to
go - this can be professionally or conceptually?

- Do you have any concerns about your chosen medium and direction of
professional development?

Bristol Diving School also hired a professional photographer to document the artist's work (see photos). Hopefully, this is the first of many events where Hamilton House can support its tenants whilst also linking up with the wider Bristol art world. If you have any ideas or suggestions for similar events you’d like to see, please email space@coexistuk.org. Coexist interns Leanne and Abi planned the day in conjuction with interest from tenants… special thanks to them!

"What a nice, cheerful and helpful get together; it gave me and everyone else new ideas and confidence. I also really liked the fact that our work was recorded by a professional photographer- another confidence boost in a way." Tina Altwegg, artist.
