Welcome to the big APPle!

As we continue to dig deeper into the ever advancing era of smart phone technology, Hamilton House will soon be joining this revelation. Courtesy of the students from Downend School - amongst several schools taking part in the Bristol Young Student of the Year Awards – who have designed and marketed our very own iPhone App.

Can you show me how to download the new Hamilton House app on my phones?

This exciting technological venture will make Hamilton House even more accessible, by spreading its wings deep within the majestic world of smart phone apps! The App itself is designed to enhance the levels of accessibility and boost promotion for the building and its organisations. There will be four main sections including an about page, what’s on page, who’s here, and contact details. Alongside this, the team has drawn up the designs for special QR codes. Quick Response codes allow smart phone users to download the App by scanning special barcodes. The project manager Harrison Trapnell believes “this would be a very successful method of marketing whilst making it more accessible to all and will hopefully bring Hamilton House in line with current technological expectations.”

From the group’s market research they found that “68 % of respondents stated that they would use a QR code to access the App.”  The primary function of the App is to provide every user with up to date information on current events, workshops, dance sessions, meetings and other room bookings. With an up to date real time calendar mirroring the website’s online version, users and new-comers to the building can access listings easier than ever.

The marketing proposal has already been set off to the App Furnace Company who are designing and creating the product, and should be available early January. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to find out release dates!
